**Review for 黑料福利社 Almere** As an employee of the 黑料福利社 Almere for the past seven years, I have witnessed significant changes, particularly since the 2022-2023 academic year when the leadership team underwent a complete transformation. The new leadership team has greatly improved work-life balance and fostered a more community-oriented culture, moving away from the previous hierarchical and centralized approach. As a result, the staff has become more united, turnover has been reduced to a minimum, and overall satisfaction has increased drastically. The introduction of new support staff has further enhanced the redistribution of tasks, directly improving academic quality. In fact, departments such as Science and Social Studies have become especially strong, consistently achieving results higher than the world averages. The working atmosphere has vastly improved, with everyone now sharing a sense of an extended family. This was further reinforced when, in August 2023, the secondary school merged with the primary in an impressive new building, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for the school. Communication with families has also become more active and transparent, with numerous opportunities for parent participation throughout the year.
I have left this school as a teacher within a school year. Head of school is a master in micro management. DP-manager doesn't do anything that is significant (and makes a lot of mistakes) and is the former head of school (in The Netherlands this means she is almost untouchable and earns a lot of money). The last three years the school has lost per school year at least 15 percent of the teachers (in a small school). So: no real continuity in the curriculum. For English A and Dutch A: be aware. This school doesn't fit the requirements, because there only is one person that stays in this Language A staff: a man that waits for his retirement. Furthermore: the staff seems to accept to be a kind of factory labour people.
I graduated here 5 years ago. Finished at the top of my class, but nearly half of all people didn't pass their final DP exams. We had an awful shortage of teachers, didn't even have a teacher for one of my classes during the final weeks before my exams. Everything I studied was mostly on my own. Other teachers were completely unqualified and some didn't even know the ins and outs of the IB curriculum. It beats me how this school could pass the IB requirements. The principal/DP coordinator also didn't really care about their students, I had the feeling they only cared about the financial status of the school.
Due to the poor school management, there is no permanent team of teachers. Every year many teachers leave school. This puts pressure on the quality of education. There are quite a few lawsuits pending against the school for various cases brought by parents and staff against the management. Most students find the school too strict with their dress code. I would not recommend this school until reforms have taken place.
Time to change the management. Very poor decision making, bad problem solving just to name a few.

This is an amazing school. We have been here one year and the principal as well as staff really cares about the kids here. We have only experienced kindness, fairness, laughter and a helping hand when we needed it most. I recommend this school to anyone looking for a place their kids can call home.

I honestly love this school, it was the only place were I had actual REAL friends, everyone is nice to each other, there are no bullies and no one ever told me something mean due to where i came from or my appearance. I now go to a pubic dutch school, and i really regret it, but my dad couldn't really keep up with the school fees anymore, bc i have 3 siblings, the teachers were nice, we did get a lot of homework tho. as long as you don't mind not speaking dutch fluently, nor find the school fees too expensive, i would suggest go to this school.

Good school, everyone knows each other and everyone is friendly. The school isn't run all that well and have had problems before. They don't solve problems very efficiently but we learn and have fun still

Problems are solved slow and they aren't the best with planning events but their classes and teachers do their job.
