Disgruntled parent alert…. This school denied Grade 1 admission to my 6 year old son of non Japanese descent, on the basis of a 30 minute assessment. They said he lacked the necessary reading writing and math skills. He is 6 years old! They claim to base their curriculum on the Japanese system, yet turn away Grade 1 children because of math abilities? Surely they know there are no math standards for entry to Japanese Grade 1? It appears they are much more interested in manufacturing their image, rather than serving the International community, as their name suggests. We went to great lengths to set up in Makuhari, having found this school, genuinely not expecting for a second that they would do such a thing. I have no problem with a school wanting to keep high standards, but turning away a normal international Grade 1 student is cruel and absurd. I wonder how the principal would feel if his own two kids were denied entry to Grade 1? Shame on them, other families be warned.

There are many students who hold dual nationality and children from overseas attend and learn English as a first language. Children at the Kindergarten enjoy learning both English and Japanese language. This school provides imaginable education utilizing a digital screen and visual contents. There are also a lot of annual events. In contrast, there is a conflict between the parents who are not proficient in Japanese language skills and the families who are not being educated in the English language. This school facility is invested by Chiba Prefecture and Chiba Bank and it is managed as a general incorporated foundation.

I took a walk nearby in the afternoon when I was about to leave school. It seems that the number of people who go there is increasing year by year and the facilities are being enhanced. It seems that the number of school buses that pick up and drop off students in all directions has increased. A driver was on standby on every bus. On the street with two lanes on each side leading to Makuhari General High School, the cars of the guardians who picked up were lined up. Even if my grandchildren come back to Japan, I feel relieved if there is such a school nearby.

An international school that doesn't cater for international kids living in Japan. It's evident why the school has such a bad reputation in Narashino. The school's motto should be, 'If you got the money you're welcome!' We called recently about enrolling our half Aussie bilingual child in 2020 and the lady we spoke to was neither helpful or forthcoming. After calling there it left a really bad taste in my mouth. The treatment I received was absolutely appalling! And now I do not want to go there!
